A Poem | Montana: Moving Boxes

Here’s the poem I promised on Instagram over a month ago. I guess it’s about saying goodbye — or trying to.

Montana: Moving Boxes

Everything was painted in gold,
Before the sun dipped beneath
The mountain tips and left us
For the cold. One moment before
The wind wailed — and we thought
It might last forever. Just one moment
Before the summer sprung and the
Snowfall: Before the spring freeze
And the galloping. We held our
Breath when the rain fell, as though
It might hold off the falls. We laughed
Here, on the asphalt and have
Wondered where the time goes. Because
When the sun paints everything in gold —
We know nothing lasts forever, even
In the ice cold.

Drink lots of water today,
Sabrina Hayes

  1. I love reading your creations. Usually they are way over my head. But then I don’t have the wonderful education you experienced or the natural ability you have. You make me so proud. I love you!
